The photos were submitted on the ebay jewelry forum and we had lots of fun determining what it was!    The patent describes it this way: "Our invention relates to waist-lengtheners. It consists of a device for engaging with the corset or other garment by which the blouse or waist and the skirt are held down below the normal waist-line."
